Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi – Maasai Mara Game Reserve

Pick up from your hotel at 0730 hrs and drive via the scenic Great Rift Valley, to the Mara Reserve arriving in good time for lunch. Afternoon game drive is taken. Dinner and overnight at Mara Ashnil Tented camp.

Day 2: Maasai Mara - Game reserve - Mara River

Breakfast then head out with a picnic lunch to the Mara River, hoping to see a dramatic river crossing or two. It is quite some sight to see the massed herds take a leap of faith into the Mara or Talek rivers with the Nile crocs lying in wait for them. Return to the Lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Maasai Mara game reserve Wildebeest Trailing the Wildebeest

Day spent exploring the park in search of the big 5/ trailing the wildebeest migration Morning and afternoon game drives are offered. Optional hot air balloon safari can be arranged at an extra cost of US$ 450 per person. Dinner and overnight stay at Mara Ashnil Lodge The Mara offers wildlife in such variety and abundance that it is difficult to believe: over 450 species of animals have been recorded here. You will easily see lions, rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, giraffe, wildebeests, zebras, buffalo, warthogs, hyenas, jackals, wild dogs, buffalo, leopard, many kinds of antelopes and elephant. It is in the Mara that perhaps the most spectacular event of the natural world takes place. This is the annual migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti (Tanzania) in search of water and pasture. Following on their heels are the predators of the savanna- lion, cheetah, wild dog, jackal, hyena and vultures.

Day 4: Maasai Mara - Lake Naivasha

Early breakfast then proceed for morning game drives exit the park and drive to Lake Naivasha,this is a fresh water lake which is also inhabited by birds and other game -Optional boat ride in Lake Naivasha can be arranged with our Guide at an extra cost .Dinner and overnight stay at Naivasha Simba Lodge.

Day 5: Lake Naivasha – Amboseli National park

Depart soon after breakfast and drive to Amboseli national park via Nairobi with packed lunches. Afternoon game drives then proceed to Oltukai Lodge for dinner and overnight stay. Amboseli National park is one of the most popular wildlife sanctuaries in Kenya. It is situated close to Kenya. It is situated close to Kenya- Tanzania border, The Park lies at the foot of Mt. Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa (5,896m) whose snow-capped summit presents a splendid view on clear days.

Day 6: Amboseli National Park

A full day in this photogenic park. Morning and afternoon game drives. Meals and overnight at Amboseli Oltukai lodge Amboseli National park is one of the most popular wildlife sanctuaries in Kenya. It is situated close to Kenya. It is situated close to Kenya- Tanzania border, The Park lies at the foot of Mt. Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa (5,896m) whose snow-capped summit presents a splendid view on clear days. Amboseli National Park is often referred to as "The home of Elephants' some of the largest Elephant herds are found here. The Game Park also contains vast groups of Zebras, Wildebeests, Giraffes, Buffalos, Hippos and Antelopes.

Day 7: Amboseli -Lake Manyara ( Mto Wa Umbu)

Breakfast then drive to Tanzania via Namanga boarder lunch enroute then proceed for an afternoon Village walk- Get an inside look at the homes and exquisite craft of Mto wa Mbu’s many tribes. Visitors will get a chance to meet locals and learn about banana beer, Makonde woodcarvings, and the tribal painting techniques; the village provides a great introduction to everyday life in Africa.Proceed to Lake Manyara Serena Lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8: Lake Manyara - Ngorongoro Conservation area

Early breakfast then proceed for extensive morning game drives at Lake Manyara National Park with packed lunches, exit the park and drive to Ngorongoro conservation area for dinner and overnight stay at Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge.

Day 9: Ngorongoro Crater Tour

After breakfast, a 4WD vehicle will take you 2000ft down to the crater, enjoy picnic lunch at the crater, ascend back to Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge for dinner and overnight. The Ngorongoro Crater is often called ‘Africa’s Eden’ and the ‘8th Natural Wonder of the World,’ a visit to the crater is a main draw card for tourists coming to Tanzania and a definite world-class attraction. The Ngorongoro Conservation Area (NCA) is home of Ngorongoro Crater. It was formed some 2.5 million years ago from a volcanic mountain sinking due to inactivity, and was initially thought to be higher than Tanzania’s famous Kilimanjaro. The crater has evolved into a unique and integral part of Tanzania’s eco-system. The crater is actually a caldera, measures 22.5 km’s across and the rim walls stand 600m high. Views from within and from the rim are breathtaking (as can be seen from the picture). The crater houses 30,000 animals, and a large variety of birds, which rarely move from the area due to the availability of water through wet and dry seasons.

Day 10: Ngorongoro - Arusha -Nairobi or Zanzibar

Breakfast at leisure then – drive to Arusha to arrive by 1200 hrs – board and afternoon shuttle bus to Nairobi departing at 1400hrs. Drop off at the airport to board your home bound flight.
