A tour of Namibia for 8 days would give you a good opportunity to explore some of the country's highlights. Here's a suggested itinerary:
Itinerary
Day 1: Windhoek
Arrive in Windhoek, the capital of Namibia. Spend the day exploring the city's colonial architecture, museums, and craft markets. In the evening, enjoy dinner at one of the city's many restaurants.
Day 2: Sossusvlei
Drive to Sossusvlei, a stunning desert landscape of towering sand dunes. Spend the day exploring the dunes and taking in the incredible views. Overnight at a lodge near Sossusvlei.
Day 3: Swakopmund
Drive to the coastal town of Swakopmund. En route, stop at the quirky town of Solitaire for lunch. In Swakopmund, enjoy the town's German-influenced architecture, seaside promenade, and adventure activities like sandboarding and skydiving. Overnight in Swakopmund.
Day 4: Skeleton Coast
Drive along the Skeleton Coast, a desolate and beautiful coastline that's home to shipwrecks, seal colonies, and unique flora and fauna. Visit the Cape Cross seal colony and stop at the historic town of Henties Bay. Overnight in a lodge along the Skeleton Coast.
Day 5: Etosha National Park
Drive to Etosha National Park, one of Africa's premier wildlife reserves. Spend the day on a game drive, watching for elephants, lions, giraffes, and other animals. Overnight at a lodge in or near the park.
Day 6: Etosha National Park
Spend another day on a game drive in Etosha National Park. Overnight at a lodge in or near the park.
Day 7: Damaraland
Drive to Damaraland, a rugged and beautiful landscape that's home to ancient rock art, desert-adapted elephants, and the highest mountain in Namibia, the Brandberg. Visit the rock art sites and spend the night at a lodge in Damaraland.
Day 8: Windhoek
Drive back to Windhoek, stopping en route for lunch. Spend the day shopping for souvenirs and enjoying a final dinner in Namibia before departing the next day.
