Itinerary
Day 1: Kampala – Murchison Falls National Park
Morning Departure: Pick up from your hotel or residence in Kampala in the morning, and embark on a scenic drive to Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest and oldest national park. Stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary: On the way, stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for a guided walking safari to track the rhinos, which are being reintroduced to Uganda after becoming extinct in the wild. Arrival & Check-in: Arrive at your lodge in Murchison Falls National Park in time for lunch. Check-in and relax. Top of the Falls Visit: In the late afternoon, visit the top of Murchison Falls, where the Nile River squeezes through a 7-meter gorge and plunges 43 meters below, creating the most powerful waterfall in the world. Dinner & Overnight: Stay at a lodge or camp inside Murchison Falls National Park.
Day 2: Murchison Falls National Park – Game Drive & Nile Boat Cruise
Morning Game Drive: Start your day with an early morning game drive on the northern bank of the Nile River. This region is home to a wide range of wildlife, including elephants, lions, giraffes, buffaloes, and Uganda kob. Keep an eye out for leopards as well. Breakfast & Relaxation: Return to the lodge for a hearty breakfast and some relaxation time. Afternoon Boat Cruise to the Base of the Falls: After lunch, embark on a boat cruise along the Nile River to the base of Murchison Falls. Along the way, you’ll see hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of bird species, including African fish eagles, herons, and kingfishers. The boat cruise offers excellent photo opportunities of the dramatic falls from below. Optional Hike to the Top of the Falls: After reaching the base of the falls, you can choose to take an optional hike to the top of the falls for stunning panoramic views (extra cost). Dinner & Overnight: Return to your lodge or camp for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Murchison Falls – Kampala
Morning Game Drive: Enjoy one last early morning game drive in the park to see more wildlife before your departure. Breakfast & Check-out: After breakfast, check out from your lodge and begin your drive back to Kampala. Lunch Stop: Enjoy lunch en route to Kampala at a local restaurant or lodge. Return to Kampala: Arrive in Kampala in the late afternoon, with drop-off at your hotel or residence.
