Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Maun – Flight to Moremi Game Reserve
Arrival in Maun: Arrive at Maun International Airport, where a guide will meet you and assist with your light aircraft transfer to Moremi Game Reserve. Scenic Flight to Moremi: The flight offers spectacular aerial views of the Okavango Delta’s winding waterways and islands, giving you a sense of the vastness and beauty of the region. Arrival & Check-in: Upon landing, transfer to your luxury tented camp in the Moremi Game Reserve. After check-in, enjoy some leisure time and a delicious lunch. Afternoon Game Drive: Embark on your first game drive in Moremi. The reserve is renowned for its diverse habitats, which are home to elephants, buffalo, leopards, lions, and a variety of antelope species. Dinner & Overnight: Return to the camp for dinner and your first night under the African sky.
Day 2: Moremi Game Reserve – Full Day of Safari
Morning Game Drive: Start your day with an early morning game drive through Moremi’s varied landscapes, from mopane woodlands to floodplains. Moremi is a haven for bird lovers and wildlife enthusiasts, and you may spot lions, leopards, hyenas, and African wild dogs. Bush Breakfast: Stop for a bush breakfast in a scenic spot during your game drive. Lunch & Leisure: Return to camp for lunch and some relaxation before the afternoon activity. Afternoon Mokoro Excursion: In the afternoon, take a mokoro (traditional dugout canoe) safari through the Delta’s tranquil channels. This water-based activity offers a unique perspective on the Delta’s flora and fauna, including hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of bird species. Dinner & Overnight: After a serene mokoro safari, return to camp for dinner and overnight
Day 3: Transfer to Khwai Concession – Afternoon Game Drive
Morning Game Drive in Moremi: Enjoy a final morning game drive in Moremi before departing for Khwai Concession. Transfer to Khwai: After brunch, transfer by road to the Khwai Concession, a community-run conservancy located on the northern fringes of Moremi. The Khwai area is famous for its abundant wildlife and offers excellent safari opportunities. Afternoon Game Drive: Upon arrival at your luxury tented camp, embark on an afternoon game drive. The Khwai River attracts a diverse range of animals, and you may spot elephants, buffalo, zebras, and various predators such as lions and leopards. Dinner & Overnight: Enjoy dinner at the camp and overnight under the stars in Khwai.
Day 4: Khwai Concession – Game Drives and Night Safari
Morning Game Drive: Begin the day with a thrilling game drive in the Khwai Concession. The landscape is a mix of open savannah, floodplains, and forested areas, providing diverse habitats for wildlife. Keep your eyes peeled for sightings of giraffes, hippos, and antelopes, as well as predators like cheetahs and wild dogs. Lunch & Relaxation: After the morning activity, return to the camp for lunch and some downtime to relax. Afternoon & Night Game Drive: After an afternoon game drive, extend your adventure into the evening with a night safari. This is a unique opportunity to see nocturnal species such as civets, porcupines, and possibly leopards on the hunt. Dinner & Overnight: Return to camp for dinner and enjoy your last night in the Delta.
Day 5: Morning Game Drive & Departure
Morning Game Drive: On your final morning in the Delta, take one last game drive to soak in the sights and sounds of the African wilderness. Brunch & Departure: After brunch, transfer back to the airstrip for your scenic flight to Maun, where you will connect with your onward travel plans.
